Nigeria's money launderer numero uno

When notable Nigerian looters operate their track is very often difficult to trace. They act in concert with faceless accomplices. Pointblanknews.com has been trying to unmask and put human faces behind this intricate web of illegal money transfer syndicate. One such smooth money laundering operatives is media shy Billionaire hustler, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, the owner of the Nigerian blue chip oil retail company, A. A Oil.

Alhaji Aliyu, the diminutive Kogi state born, assisted impeached former Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Diepreye Alamieyesiegha to illegally transfer several Billions of Naira into so many overseas bank accounts. Sources in London told Pointblanknews.com that Aliyu often receive handsome rewards in form of multi-Billion contracts in construction, refined petroleum importation and outright cash sums often paid in hard currency.

For instance the source said for some of the transactions he reportedly handled on behalf of Mr. Alamieyesiegha concerning the payment of £475,724.08 from his HSBC account in London, he was rewarded with a top notch contract to build Governor’s lodge and the Deputy Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. Guess for how much? An over invoiced unbelievable N4.8 Billion ($40 Million).

Again in 2002, pointblanknews.com learnt that Aliyu assisted Alamieyesiegha to illegally ship out of Nigeria monies stolen from public coffers amounting to £420, 000. Destination was London. The money was lodged into Aliyu’s account in Midland Bank London from where it was later transferred to Alamieyesiegha’s account in the same bank.

The proceeds from Aliyu’s financial operations with Nigerian corrupt politicians (both civilian and military) are usually plowed into his prosperous landed property deals. He often builds magnificent villas with out of the world architectural design which he in turn sells to the same circle of corrupt political friends in Nigeria. One of such properties recently changed hands in a landmark business triangle between Abubakar Aliyu, Oceanic Bank, Nigeria and spoilt Obasanjo’s godson, Mr. Andy Uba. The property located at Minister’s Hill, Maitama, Abuja sold for an eye popping N1.2 Billion.

Barely literate with very scanty formal education, Aliyu has always been a tickling human time bomb against the Nigerian public: He was the same notorious importer who brought killer petrol and kerosene to Nigeria during the reign of late military dictator, General Sanni Abacha. His deal mate in that saga was former Petroleum Minister, Mr. Dan Etete, the man who kept two pet lions which he daily fed four life goats in a country where the majority mostly ate “without.”
