Whose flag are they flying? Pahlavi palaver!

Okay, let us settle this matter once and for all.

Here is the flag of Persia, used prior to 1925. Note the ratio of length to height, more a banner than a flag. Note also the paler coloring.

Here is the flag of Iran during the time of the Pahlavi Dynasty. Note the ratio of length to height, like a modern flag, and the darker coloring.

Here is the modern day flag of Iran. This is the flag in use for the last 30 years.

So, whose flag are they flying at the protests?

Judge for yourself. And remember, these flags were flown as part of protests that held in front of the White House, in Toronto, Irvine, on CNN and at it's Atlanta headquarter office, in Salt Lake City and on the Bellevue Washington, amongst others. There was definitely a clear impression and message being sent along.

Think! This design flag has not been used for 30 years. They are not just lying around "Flags-R-us". Somebody ordered these flags made in advance of the protests!

Facsimile of the Shah of Iran's ousting and a C.I.A classic.
